Chelsea
Into
her tenth year of DJing, Chelsea still loves the buzz of playing music
to an appreciative crowd. “There's nothing better than playing your music
to a room full of clubbers who are totally getting off on it”.
As part
of the South London tech house movement Chelsea has graced the decks in
all four corners of the world, spinning her unique style of house music.
Two
mixed CDs and a dabble in the world of production, she has also been the
first ambassador for the Red Bull Music Academy and runs her own production
company – madhouse.
In between all this she juggles the role of motherhood
with her two year old twins. “I'm not someone who likes to sit still for
too long eh!”.

DJ Philippa
Philippa
started DJing 6-7 years ago after finding big inspiration on the deep
house dancefloors of Wellington. She moved to Auckland in late '97 and
soon after started working at BPM Records.
Milestones so far - has been voted in as Re:mix magazine's "Best Up and
Coming DJ" in 1998, voted in as New Zealand's "Best Up and Coming
DJ" in the 2000 b-Net Awards. Mixed a deep house CD for Re:mix magazine
at the start of 2000, which over time became one of Re:mix magazine's most
in demand CDs ever. Attended the Red Bull Music Academy - was flown to Dublin
for this 2 week course in 2000; in 2001 began hosting (and still hosts) the
Friday afternoon Drive on George FM, and in 2003, in the biggie top djs voters
poll, came in as 4th most popular Auckland House dj - after Bevan keys, Soane
and Dick Majik Johnson.

Amy B
A
relative newcomer to the scene, Amy has been playing for just over three
years. She plays a delicious blend of House, Breaks, Electro & all
round Funky Schtuff!! Recently you may have caught her at a LoveFunk,
Deep Hard n Funky, Cream or SummaDayze event. On a normal weekend, you'll
catch her at Coast, WBC or Calibre in Auckland, or at Sekure & The
Loft Bar in Hamilton . And mid-week, she makes up half the popular ‘George
FM Girls' Tuesday Afternoon', (with DJ Ange) on her show ‘The Big Playback',
Tuesdays from 2-4 pm.
At SheBreeze you'll groove to the sounds of Amy B as the sun goes down.
DJ Pradeepa
Pradeepa
is a newcomer to the DJing scene, both in Australia and NZ. Native to
Melbourne, Australia, she is flying across the Pacific especially for
Shebreeze! Pradeepa's been DJing for just a year, but had been singing
and playing in funk and jazz bands for 5 years before that. Pradeepa is
also a producer, making up half of the outfit "eggstacy", which will be
having their first release later this year. Pradeepa put on "electronichoir"
in 2002, combining local Melbourne producers and choirs and has a track
with the Bulgarian Women's Choir on the upcoming release. She also put
on the party Ravin' On, an interactive dance party featuring Will E Tell,
with a communication game which got people talking! Pradeepa is particularly
partial to breakbeats and psy-trance, so get ready for a set that's funky,
syncopated and trancy!
DJ Cheeky
DJ
Cheeky sprung onto the scene in 95 at the "Coming Out Parade” at K-Rds
Pacific Club, with a fierce defence of old skool dance floor anthems.
Sashaying and spinning her way around a multi-cultural community, her
performance side flourishing with the likes of Kill Pussy Kill Kill. After
a stint on bBFM's "Girls Only Show" she took to distant shores with a
crate of her favourite tunes and livened up "backyard" parties, the UK
club scene flowing onto her decks. 3 years later Tangata Whenua beckoned,
and she made her debut back in Aotearoa recently at the Wild Wild West
party… “I look forward to providing you all with a familiarity and sense
of belonging. C U on the island! Arohanui DJ Cheeky.”
DJ Solarsista
Solarsista
has been quiet on the town circuits of late while she’s been producing
her own tech house/ breaks. She’s DJ'd and MC'd at Galatos, 4:20.
Khuja lounge, Fu Bar, Supper Club, Soundsplash, Resolution 03/04, St James,
to name a few. Her approach is an unassuming punch to the head, kung fu
styles on the sound front to make you wanna shake your booty –liciously!!
She was selected for the Red Bull remix conference with Mad Professor
in 2003 and was the first female to enter the MC battle for supremacy.
She is currently concentrating on production but is looking forward to
playing a delightful set of tech house/2 step/breaks including her own
tunes.
DJ Rosebud
Rosanna
Sweetman has always been into an eclectic range of music, - blues, rock,
dub, retro - Nick Drake, JJ Cale, Gary Numan are some of her favourites.
On the dance music side of things Rosebud tends to play deep progressive
house - anything with originality and chuggy baselines. She began mainly
playing out when she lived in Melbourne over a year ago, and now back
on Auckland, Rosebud plays at Ink Bar, Lovefunk parties, Elbow Room etc.
This year Rosanna wants to concentrate on DJing while also producing her
own beats.
